Our Research

The Umbers Lab is based in the School of Science and Health and the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment at Western Sydney University, Hawkesbury. We focus on mountain environments and are interested in the behaviour, physiology and genetics of the animals that live there. We aim to understand the evolution of our focal species and how they will continue to survive as the environment changes under rising temperatures. Through these aims we contribute to pure basic research, conservation and invasion biology.
